Studio K: Exhibition Moa Gustafsson Söndergaard
In a sitespecific installation Moa Gustafsson Söndergaard are showing for the first time part of her research work Yttring/Outcrop. A work started to take shape already in 2015 when Söndergaard lived in Iceland and for the first time saw the connection between how nature suffer due to harsh environmental factors in the same manner as her inherit skin condition. Five years later the work has grown into a research with a body of work that consist of sculpture, objects and digital work. The pieces shown at Studio K has been developed in relationship to Studio K’s specific architecture layout which is a reoccurring method in Söndergaards practices.
Moa Gustafsson Söndergaard (b.1991) Is A visual artist based in Malmö. Her sculptures deal with the relationship between the body and the object, the place and memory. Söndergaard ask questions regarding emotional value. Is it possible to charge an object with an emotion, to transcribe a place into a sculpture? She graduated with a MFA from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in 2019 and has since then exhibited at Galleri Andersson Sandström (Stockholm) Lars palm Gallery (Sandviken, Sweden) and most recent at NEJD project space in Gothenburg. This will be Söndergaards first solo show Norway.
