Happy Holidays from CAS and a huge THANK YOU to all who help us make each year better than the last. 2017 has been a year of strengthening our foundations and growing our programming. In addition to our continuing online arts journal, we have solidified our CAS Residency in Art Writing, initiated collaborations with local, national, and international organizations, and produced workshops, presentations and roundtable discussions to further our goal of strengthening regional discourse around the visual arts. We’re proud to have featured 37 articles, reviews, and interviews by 18 writers, artists, and curators.
As 2016 draws to an end, we spotlight some of our favorite articles from the last year including a conversational review of documenta 14, a series of in-depth articles exploring art in the public space, a free-form text by this year’s resident in art writing, a review of the exhibition Fri Luft – Kitty L. Kielland, and an immediate response to a performance by Alexandra Bachzetsis.
As always, thank you for making our work possible, and we are excited to continue to highlight visual arts discourse in the new year!
