De har et variert program med forestillinger av dybwikdans, samt forestillinger og konserter med artister fra hele verden. Lokalene ligger i østre bydel under samme tak som Elefant Workspace, og er tilrettelagt for de aller yngste ved at rom og interiør er tilpasset barna. Stedet har universell utforming i tråd med offentlige regler, og god tilgang for rullestol. Lokalene inneholder et mikrobibliotek i foajén med en sittegruppe. De har barnetilpasset garderobe, handikaptoalett og toaletter med stellebord. Forestillingene finner sted i Elefantteaterets «blackbox», og i uterommet på Storhaug. Elefantteateret kan ta i mot ca 50 publikummere av gangen.
Interaksjon, deltakelse og demokratisk form er tre viktige begreper for Elefantteaterets virksomhet. De tilbyr barn og voksne en anledning til å medvirke. Elefantteateret lener seg på dybwikdans’ kunstneriske erfaring med arbeid for barn og unge gjennom 22 år. Kompaniet har siden 1999 vært lokalt og regionalt forankret gjennom utstrakt formidlingsaktivitet i hele Rogaland. Kompaniet har de siste 10 årene turnert med et bredt repertoar av forestillinger i Norge, Europa og Asia.
Elefantteateret er en del av kunstnerfelleskapet Elefant Workspace i Erfjordgata 8, som startet i 2013 hvor over 30 kunstnere og kulturentreprenører innen blant annet visuell kunst, fotografi, musikk, scenekunst, litteratur og arkitektur.

Their programming includes performances by local dance troupe dybwikdans as well as productions and concerts by international artists. The performances take place in Elefantteateret’s “blackbox theatre” and in the outdoor room in the neighborhood Storhaug. The premises are located on the ground floor of Elefant Workspace at Erfjordgata 8, and are designed for the very youngest audiences with the rooms and interior adapted specifically for children. The place has a universal design in line with public regulations, and good access for wheelchairs. The space contains a micro-library, a foyer with a seating area, wardrobe, toilets accessible to all and with changing tables. Elefantteateret can accommodate approximately 50 audience members at a time.
Interaction, participation and democratic ideals are three guiding concepts in Elefantteateret’s activities. They enable children and adults to actively participate in theatre and culture. Elefantteateret relies on dybwikdans’ 22 years of artistic experience working with children and young people. Since 1999, the company has been locally and regionally rooted and has been active widely throughout Rogaland. For the last 10 years, the company has toured with a wide repertoire of performances in Norway, Europe and Asia.
Elefantteateret is part of the artist community Elefant Workspace at Erfjordgta 8, which was founded in 2013 and houses 30 artists and cultural entrepreneurs working in visual art, photography, music, performing arts, literature and architecture.
