Hvert år fra juni til oktober tilbyr Rogaland fylkeskommune norske og internasjonale kunstnere inntil to uker gratis overnatting på en av tre boliger i området: Obrestad fyr i Hå kommune, Utsira fyr i Utsira kommune, og leiligheten Bølgen ved havna i Nordevågen i Utsira kommune. Tilbudet om gjesteopphold har som mål å hjelpe kunstnere med forskjellig bakgrunn å utvikle seg videre innenfor sitt felt ved å gi rom og tid til målrettet arbeid med et konkret prosjekt etter eget valg. Kunstnere oppfordres til å oppleve og la seg inspirere av Rogalands naturskjønne landskap og rike naturressurser.
Obrestad fyr:
Man kan søke om å bo i to ulike boliger på Obrestad – den gamle fyrvokterboligen og et mindre atelier. Leilighetene ligger like ved kunstinstitusjonen Hå gamle prestegard. Begge boligene er møblert, med kjøkken og bad.
Utsira fyr:
Utsira er Norges minste kommune og øya ligger vest for Haugesund. Leiligheten på Utsira fyr er en tomannsbolig bygget på slutten av 1950-tallet, og ble opprinnelig bygget for å huse fyrvokterens familie. Leiligheten er totalrenovert og inneholder stue, kjøkken, arbeids- og utstillingsrom, bad og to soverom med fire senger. Alle bygninger ved Utsira fyr er fredet etter kulturminneloven.
Bølgen på Utsira:
Leiligheten Bølgen ligger på ved havna i Nordevågen på Utsira, ved ferjeleie. Den er fra 2011, er ca 85 kvm og har fantastisk utsikt over havet. Leiligheter inneholder soverom i første etasje. I underetasjen finnes toalett/dusj, kjøkkenkrok og stue med terrasse. Ovenpå er det en liten TV-krok og et ekstra soverom eller arbeidsrom.
Praktisk informasjon:
Både norske og internasjonale kunstnere kan søke, men søkere fra Rogaland vil bli prioritert. For å søke om gjestopphold må kunstnere kunne dokumentere profesjonelt arbeid gjennom utdanning og/eller praksis (f.eks. utstillinger, forestillinger, publiserte tekster, dokumenterte forestillinger).

Every year from June to October, Rogaland county offers Norwegian and international artists up to two weeks of free accommodation at one of three residences in the area: Obrestad lighthouse in Hå municipality, Utsira lighthouse in Utsira municipality, and the Bølgen apartment by the harbor in Nordevågen in Utsira municipality.* The residency program aims to help artists from all art forms develop further within their chosen field by providing space and time for focused work on a specific project of their own choosing. Artists are encouraged to experience and be inspired by Rogaland’s scenic landscape and rich natural resources.
Obrestad lighthouse:
One can apply to stay in two different residences at Obrestad – the old lighthouse keeper’s house and a smaller studio. The apartments are located close to the art institution Hå gamle prestegard. Both residences are furnished, with a kitchen and bathroom.
Utsira lighthouse:
The island of Utsira is Norway’s smallest municipality and lays in the ocean west of the city of Haugesund. The apartment at Utsira lighthouse is semi-detached, built in the late 1950s, and was originally built to house the lighthouse keeper’s family. The apartment has been fully renovated and includes a living room, kitchen, work and showroom, bathroom and two bedrooms with four beds. All buildings at Utsira lighthouse are protected in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Act.
Bølgen:
The Bølgen apartment is located by the harbor in Nordevågen, where the Utsira ferry arrives and departs. The apartment is from 2011 and has wonderful view of the sea. It is approximately 85 sqm and includes on the ground floor a bedroom, toilet/shower, kitchenette and living room with terrace downstairs. Upstairs is a small TV nook and an additional bedroom or study.
Practical information:
Both Norwegian and international artists are eligible to apply, but applicants from Rogaland will be prioritized. To apply for the residency, artists must be able to document professional work through education and/or practice (e.g. exhibitions, performances, published texts, documented performances).
