Merijn Hos at Kunsthall Stavanger

The exhibition is part of the kunsthall's Art for Kids program and features 262 unique sculptures varying in sizes between 5 and 14 inches. Hos intends his work to be joyful and humorous, but also slips underlying social themes into his illustrations, sculptures and installations. Originally created for the Stedelijk Museum Kampen in the Netherlands in 2012, the sculptures have since been exhibited at Design Museum Helsinki and at galleries in New York, Dusseldorf, and Malmø. Hos, who identifies as both an artist and commercial illustrator/designer, is offering a series of workshops for children at Kunsthall Stavanger throughout the exhibition period.

Merijn Hos is an illustrator based in Utrecht, Netherlands, who works on both commercial projects and his own artworks. His clients have included The Guardian, The New York Times, Nickelodeon, Wired Magazine, Google, Nike, and De Nederlandse Opera, among many others.
